The Parisian-chic look.

T
he style icon that has been my inspiration since a little girl is my mother, now that I'm older I look back then, and I never realized how stylish my mom has been thought the years, now my style inspo are models such as Alexa Chung, Camille Rowe, Lily Rose-Depp,  Jeanne Damas, Alana Champion, Kate moss, Marine Vacth,  Jane Birkin, Vanessa Paradis, and of course my mother. Wearing simple outfits like straight leg dark washed Levi's, ankle length is very important so you can show off your boots, or ballerina flats with ribbon tied around your ankles, a nice good quality sweater or cardigan, a nice coat, leather jacket, or even denim, messy hair, in a bun, pony tail, braid o just let it lose, and a bag, my mom has always been about getting a good quality bag that you love and aren't going to grow tired off, it may be expensive, but imagine all the experiences you're going to live with that bag, it has to be leather my mom always told me, and it doesn't have to be brand new, or from a expensive luxury brand, it can be second handed, bought in a bazaar,  something sophisticated.

The mentality to achieve the french girl vibe is also a big part of it, you have to look effortless-chic, like you didn't change the outfit 20 time before finding the right one, "No I didn't spend an hour putting on this outfit, I just threw on some jeans, pointy kitten heels, dainty gold necklace, rings, put on my red lipstick and I'm ready" Confidence is key, and also, don't try to hard!! do not over think it, whoever your style icon is, think, "would ______ wear this out?" Be honest with yourself. And do not let other peoples comments stop you from dressing the way you do.

Hair, don't worry about your hair, if its messy but you're wearing a nice outfit, and square or pointy toed boots, don't worry! it's french. If you have wavy hair, do not brush it when dry, it's only going to make it  frizzy and lose it's pattern, if your hair is straight welcome it, just let it straight, if your hair is curly, put some products in and enhance your curls.

Same with makeup enhance your natural beauty and features, you want something really natural, as i all ready said pointing our your features, a light base, a blush that suits your skin tone, something creamy (this also really variates depending your skin type and the look you're going for) your brows if you have thick brows just put on some clear eyebrow gel, if your brows are a bit more fair you can fill them in, if not, rock soft brows and just brush them, now lips, everyone knows the classic french red lip, I don't know about you but when I think french I think cigarettes, messy hair, and red matte lipstick, in the YouTube channel of Vogue France you can find a lot of inspiration, like the Vogue beauty secrets.

You may ask yourself why is it chic? other than the fact that Jane Birkin is an absolute icon, she's (usually) only wearing straight leg jeans, white fitted top, slip on sandals with  small heel, and her signature basket. It's effortless, and of course nobody could do it like Jane, but just with putting on some kitten heels, boots, flats, or loafers makes the outfit more put together, it brings it a level up, on the other hand if you wear the same outfit with running shoes, how would that look, would it even be called an outfit, it's the small details that really give a change.

And remember The Person that's wearing the outfit is what really makes the look, everybody can wear a white thank top and Levi's but not everybody rocks it,  be confident, look and be sure of yourself, be careless and specially be, have fun! and do not act like someone you're not. ♡
